Artist's Description

The Swedish replica Eastindiaman Goetheborg is a reconstruction of the same-named Eastindiaman which run aground while entering Goetheborgs port on the 12th September 1745, returning from a mercantile expedition to China.
Between 1986 and 1992 marine archaeologists explored the sunken vessel and from June 1995 until her first sea trial in May 2005 the reconstruction took place.
Now she is one of the largest fullrigged wooden sailing ships in the world, giving place to 80 people on board and meeting international safety requirements for ocean going vessels.
Already six month after her first sea trial she went on a journey to China, coming back two years later in June 2007.

In Northern Europe, nature's always near. The forest and the sea still permeate the thinking and feeling of the people and there are many fascinating stories to discover. We're passionate about nature and its protection and try to show in our photographs the beauty and fragility of the natural world to emphasize the importance of living with and not against nature. Our work has been published around the world in books, advertising campaigns and in movies and commercials. On Fine...
